Version 4.0 was released on June 8 with the following excellent features:
1. Automatic saving of the daily checklist to a separate History sheet. At just after midnight each day, the entire checklist for the day is copied over into a separate History sheet, and shiny clean fresh checklist greets you in the morning when you wake up. Of course the new day/date is in the heading. If you didn't complete some of your Daily Checklist before it got saved to History, no problem, just click the History tab and change away. Piece of cake!
2. Column C is for Calculations. Directly to the left of your Daily Checklist there is a row of calculations that show your progress. For example, the average wake up time, the total number of miles you have walked, etc. You can modify these formulas as you see fit, so have fun with them.
3. Controls tab. This is where the "attaBoys" live, and you can change them to say whatever gets you motivated. Keep the number to 10 and keep them short. Have fun!
Also in controls is a translator for "y" and "n". As it is released, the system accepts "y" for Yes to indicate that the activity has been Done, and the cell turns green. If you enter "n" for Not Done, the cell turns Gray. However, you may like a more graphic look, and prefer to enter "y" and see a nice checkmark, and a red "X" for Not Done. In the Controls tab, all you need to do is substitute If you want the "y" to show up as a checkmark, just copy and paste the checkmark over the "y" in cell B2 and copy/past the "X" over the "n" in cell B3. If you like the examples shown in columns C and D, then just copy and past them into B2/B3. Easy.

Please don't share this link with anyone else, it's just for the early prototype users, and it contains my personal checklist and history. Now you know what I do all day! :)
With that link, you can open up the prototype, and if you want, then File - Make a Copy and it will be on your Google Drive to experiment with.
When the Checklist refreshes each morning, is there a way to customize them for each day of the week?
ReplyDeleteFor example, my Monday checklist items may look different than my Tuesday or Wednesday checklist items.
all days of the week are the same, for now. it's not supposed to be a calendar, but a generalized checklist. I understand what you want, but for now it needs to be kept simple (Minimum Viable Product). :)
